ArticleName: Sergey Tretyakov – Bertolt Brecht’s teacher Authors: Golovchiner Valentina Egorovna Tomsk State Pedagogical University, Tomsk, Russian Federation In the section Study of literature
Abstract: The paper deals with creative contacts of two writers. Analysis is made of the plays by the German playwright Bertolt Brecht collected in his first book and published in the Soviet Union on the initiative of Tretyakov in the latter’s translation, of Tretyakov’s etude about the German playwright in two options (1933, 1935); of Tretyakov’s paper read by him at the First Congress of Soviet Writers (1934), and of Brecht’s poem «Are People Infallible?» about a tragic fate of the person whom he calls his own teacher. The interpretation of these little known facts gives additional grounds to speak about the priority of the Russian experience in the history of the epic drama as the direction of searches in the European 20th century art. Keywords: epic drama; s. tretyakov, playwright and interpreter of b. breht; «growl, china!»; the first book of plays by b. breht in russian Bibliography: |
