Abstract: The subject of investigation in this paper is «similarity of the dissimilar» in the dramaturgic innovation of Leonid Andreev and Fedor Sologub, predominantly in the theoretical concepts expounded in a number of their papers. Particular attention has been given to the reception of Andreev’s plays by Sologub who read them in the modus of his own aesthetics. The juxtapositions presented in the present paper make it possible to conclude that the works of the two writers belong to the same artistic and semantic field of their era.
