ArticleName: Historical-comparative study of olonkho and Mongolian epic Authors: Borisov Andrian Afanasievich The Institute for Humanities Research and Indigenous Studies of the North of the Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences, Yakutsk, Russian Federation In the section Study of folklore
Abstract: The paper raises the question of the historical ties between the Yakut and the Mongolian epics. An effort is made to elucidate the historiography of the issue. So far, the historical and comparative studies have been based on the folk tales of kindred Turkic peoples. Although ethnically and culturally the Yakuts are also close to the Mongolian people, the comparative study of the two nations has not been sufficient. In particular, the comparison of their epic traditions has been made only in some aspects. As illustrated by the study of the olonkho and epic of Mongolian peoples. Keywords: historical and comparative study, olonkho, mongolian epic, epic society Bibliography: |
