Abstract: The paper considers second variants of the Tale about a Tsarina and a Lioness, which was based on the medieval novel about Otton and Olund, and was popular in the Russian literature of the 17th-19th centuries. Also considered are the artistic features of its two editions – Monastyrskaya (18th c.), Muzeyskaya (19th c.). The mrethods used by the scribes in processing the primary source are described as well.
