Abstract: The paper analyses «Mother Superior Maria’s Notes» regarded as counterfeited memoirs by Princess Odoyevskaya written early in the 16th century. The authors of the paper prove the memoirs to have been written in the 1840s as a historical novel stylized to con-form to an antique manuscript.
