Abstract: The subject of the research covers three German translations of the A.P. Chekhov’s drama «Three sisters», those by W. Czumikow, H. Styumcke and A. Scholz. The translations were done simultaneously in 1902. They are considered from the point of view of realizing the dramatic func-tion of linguistic expressive means.
