Abstract: The Paper discusses the main aspects of the еpistolary art of the famous Russian writer, actor, and film director V.M. Shukshin (1929–1974). The author deals with history, poetics, language features of Shukshin's letters, as well as links of epistolary works with the social and cultural situation in which they were created and with the writer's creative work as a whole.
