Abstract: The paper considers the sound (inclusive musical) content of the A. P. Chekhov’s comedy «Cherry orchard». The sonic and musical constituent runs through the whole poetics of the comedy and is investigated in the aspect of its ontological problems: as representing some world models connected with the certain stages of culture development and participating in the creation of the world image of the play proper.
