Abstract: The semantics of the Sapphic stanza in the «Silver Age» poetry is analyzed in the article. The basic thesis of the article is as follows: the Sapphic stanza introduced in the 7th century B.C. by the Ancient Greek woman poet Sappho, later retained its connections with the antique themes and style.
