Abstract: The article is concerned with conceptualization of Space and Character categories in the A.I. Kuprin's prose of 1900s. The conceptualization is performed by analysis of the tales «The Coward», «Small Fry», «The River of Life», «A Quiet Life», «Gambrinus», «Black Fog» and others.
