Abstract: The article presents a survey of one of the actual problems of Yakut language development of beginning 20 years of XX century – compiling practical grammar of Yakut. The original views of A.E. Kulakovsky on compiling practical grammar are analysed. Archives documents on linguistic heritage of A.E. Kulakovsky are used as main source.
