Abstract: The article presents the linguistic analysis of some unknown sources from 1890s–1900s years concerning works on improving the New Testament translation into Russian. The author considers the "Notes on the Slavonic-and-Russian text of the Tetraevangelia" written by a famous scholar theologist N. Glubokovsky, as well as the New Testament translation made by a well-known statesman K. Pobedonostsev. Besides, the author introduces a unique manuscript of Glubokovsky where the Pobedonostsev's translation is reviewed and commented.
