Abstract: The problem of language complexity, interpreted in modern linguistics as an indicator of typological classification, is discussed in this article on the material of the phonic and phonological systems of the Turkic languages of South Siberia. The study shows that among the South Siberian Turkic languages a high degree of the paradigmatic complexity of the consonant systems is presented in the Shor and Baraba Tatar languages, the phonological systems of which are organized by opposition of units as glottalized / non-glottalized, and Tuva consonantism, in which this opposition is implemented as the phonic one. On the syntagmatic level the simplification of the phonetic code occurs, but at the same time the morphological structure of the word forms becomes more complicated; the linear reduction of the plan of expression is negatively correlated with the plan of content, making an adequate speech perception difficult and complicating NJ communication process. Keywords: turkic languages of the southern siberia, the consonant systems, the degree of linguistic complexity Bibliography: |
