ArticleName: Parisian Notes in Apollon Maikov’s Traveler’s Diary of 1842-43: on the idiosyncrasies of the poet’s world outlook Authors: Sedel’nikova Olga Viktorovna Tomsk State University, Tomsk, Russian Federation; National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University, Tomsk, Russian Federation In the section Study of literature
Abstract: The paper investigates the peculiarities of the contents of Parisian notes in Apollon Maikov’s traveller’s diary of 1842–1843. The diary reflects the characteristic features of the young poet’s world outlook and pinpoints the dialectics of his view of the epoch’s topical problems, his intention to abandon lopsided assessments and to form a full understanding of what the poet sees around him. The materials that are made known as results of new literary studies make it possible to assert with certainty that Maikov’s position in the 1840s was characterized by his keen attention to urgent problems of the social life in the European states, including the political contradictions interpreted by him from liberal and humanistic standpoints. Keywords: diary, maikov, paris, world outlook, history, social mentality Bibliography: |
