Название: Изучение легенды в Западной Европе и США в XX–XXI столетиях

Аннотация: Представлен обзор исследований легенд Западной Европы и Соединенных Штатов Америки в XX–XXI вв. Автор показывает те изменения, которые жанр легенды претерпел за последнее столетие, став из второстепенного и малоизученного до возможно наиболее важного жанра сегодняшней фольклористики. Прослеживается развитие исследований о легендах с 1960-х гг. до настоящего времени, освещаются наиболее важные работы в этой области. Особое внимание уделено инновационному подходу к легенде, разработанному Л. Дег и Э. Васонием, которые изменили как метод определения самого понятия «легенда», так и значение ее исследования. В их представлении легенда – это в первую очередь не текст, а способ, на котором строится вера. Такая интерпретация породила множество исследовательских работ о роли легенды в современном мире и способствовала принципиальным изменениям научных подходов, используемых сегодня фольклористами для изучения этого жанра.
