Abstract: The article analyzes the poetics of contemporary writers working in the short fiction genre: Sergei Tikhanov, Evgeny Nikitin and Danila Davydov. It is shown that these authors employ different strategies of lyrical plot formation. Nikitin develops the vector of narrative movement from the chain of events to the lyrical plot, while Tikhanov’s narrative is transcended by ornamental text, the dynamics of which shapes the lyrical plot. Davydov reveals a dual dynamics of the text – to the imaginary event and at the same time to the lyrical plot. In all strategies, the text of the work itself acts as a significant factor in plot formation, as a field of dynamic interaction of various meaning-forming elements (figurative, verbal, rhythmic, etc.) both in their syntagmatic development and in the paradigmatic whole. In general, the poetics of the authors is characterized by the manifestation of a basic lyrical motif of a significant change in the state of lyrical consciousness in the absence of significant external changes.
