Name: To the Problem of Poetics and Semiosis of Yoko Tawada (By Example of the Poetic Collection “Tabula rasa”)

Abstract: The article is devoted to Yoko Tawada, one of the most prominent alive representatives of the literature of Japan and Germany, who writes in two languages – Japanese and German. The collection of poems “Tabula rasa” by Yoko Tawada is designed on the basis of oppositions: non-sign vs sign, clean paper vs text, clean paper vs shades of red, reality vs sleep etc. The first two oppositions are proved as based on the choice of the paper material close to the color of wood and pagination of the book itself. The article also describes the two levels of “beginning”: the “beginning” of the collection and the “beginning” of the poetic works. The main determinants of the collection “Tabula rasa” come to be the psychological and poetic foundations of the text generation. The link between the two determinants in the construction of the collection is the opposition sleep vs reality, which can be seen on the level of the “beginning” of the poetic texts. A restless sleep at the “beginning” of the poems is a consequence of disharmony in the soul of the lyrical “I”. In her poems, Yoko Tawada omits the causes of dreams, thereby giving her texts expression, and obscuring the personal and emotional.
