Abstract: The work on the volume “Yakut Folk Songs” began in 1984. During this period, Yakut folklorists presented two versions of the volume for consideration by the Main Editorial Board of the academic bilingual series “Monuments of Folklore of the Peoples of Siberia and the Far East”, which were not approved. The third version is being prepared. The volume compilers first encountered the problem of the antithesis “Handwritten archival text of a folk song / Audio recording of a folk song”. The authors of the previous two versions of the volume had only audio materials from the integrated expedition of 1986, 1987. Therefore, their versions of volumes were a revised version of the first scientific publication of folk songs of 1976–1983 with new handwritten texts and inediths. The third version audio samples were selected from different audio collections of the 50–60s of the 20th century, 1986, 1987, and 21st century. These audio materials were recorded not only by folklorists, philologists, ethnomusicologists but also by radio workers. In this regard, two questions arose. The first was the issue of including handwritten texts of folk songs. Many samples have been “numbing” for centuries (samples of the song system of an early period). The second issue was filing the expeditionary materials. The authors have analyzed one sample. A conclusion was drawn that the pauses and errors of the performer should be considered in the context of the execution environment.

Keywords: folklore edition, yrya and toyuk Yakut folk songs, integrated approach, series “Monuments of Folklore of the Peoples of Siberia and the Far East”.
