Name: Motif of a way in Nikolay Otsup’s early lyrics

Abstract: The paper considers the motif of a way in the early lyrics of the poet of the first wave of the Russian emigration Nikolay Otsup. Analysis is performed of the poems entering into the first collections of the poet: «Hail» (1921) and «In a smoke» (1926), as well as the poem «Meeting» (1928) in which the motive of a way is realized through a motif paradigm: «the road – search for a course of life». The spiritual way to God, a road through barriers and smoke to Light, becomes the lyrical keynote of the poet’s early poems.
