Abstract: The paper considers the concept «war» and the ways of modeling it an artistic discourse. This concept involves its variation components and possesses spatial and temporal characteristics making it possible to construct a horizontal and a vertical model of the concept. Becoming the image component of the «war» concept are audio-visual motifs. The investigation is based on the story «The Caucasian prisoner» and the novel «Asan» by B.S. Makanin.
