Abstract: The paper analyzes the implications of the Russian classics – A.S. Pushkin and M.Yu. Lermontov – in Vladimir Nabokov's stories «Offence» and «Orach» from the collected stories «Return of Chorba». The author finds out the role of references to works of the Russian classical literature in Nabokov's texts about his childhood in Petersburg and describes one of Nabokov's interpretations of Petersburg.
