Abstract: The paper considers the peculiarities of the existence of the Orthodox Christian chants, included in the folklore traditions of Slavic and some non-Slavic ethnic groups of Siberia. Analysis is made of the changes occurring in the texts of folklorized lithurgical genres. Tendencies – conservative and reconstructing – are revealed in the verbal modifications. An effort is made to characterize the texts of the chants in national languages, the particularities of their translation, and the modern reproduction by the tradition bearers. Keywords: folklorized chants, folk etymology, christianization of siberian ethnic groups Bibliography: |
