Abstract: The paper analyzes the cumulative principle of plotting in the novel by the Khanty writer E. Aipin «Mother of God in Blood-Red Snows», the stringing together of the motifs of speaking in different languages in a situation of meeting which resulted in understanding or misunderstanding each other.
