Name: Initiating communicative moves in the matrimonial discourse

Abstract: The paper is devoted to the theme of communicative initiative in the matrimonial communication. The author advances her own classification of the types of initiating communicative moves according to different criteria: the character of communicative and pragmatic statements, that of a performed speech act, and that of speech influence. Each type is thoroughly studied and described on the basis of the materials taken from films, literary texts and transcriptions of everyday oral speech.
