Abstract: In the article the results of a research of N. D. Teleshov’s creative system’s forming in a context of Russian periodical press of the 1880–1890th are presented, from the point of view of the system approach assuming identification of teleology of the author. Definition of the author's purposes and installations is promoted in many respects by category of a genre, which is unique in «the way of the world» and «the administrative mechanism» in the art system. The represented research of dynamics of Teleshov’s genre preferences is especially important, because this category is connected with a various context.
