Abstract: The issue of the «proper reading» of the novel «The Russian Wood» is one of the most disputable ones in the studies of Leonov’s works (see M. Scheglov, N. Leiderman, Z. Prilepin and others). The present paper is one of the attempts to fathom the inner purport of the novel «The Russian Wood» in terms of the revealed complex coherence (cohesion) of its artistic text including a variety of means used to create its subtext.
