Name: The history of the term "civilization" in the context of historical semantics and semiotics

Abstract: The paper describes the process of semiotic weakening considered of a feature which is considered using as an example the evolution of the term «civilization». «Civilization» as a social term appeared much later than a legal one. The change in the se-mantic load of this word symbolizes the transition process from barbarism to human society.
