Abstract: The category of temporality, as a functional-semantical one, must be analyzed in two aspects: on the one hand, from the point of view of its structure in the language system, and on the other, from the viewpoint of its manifestation in the functioning of the language. This involves the problems of interaction of the category’s structural components, say the differentiation between grammatical and non-grammatical expres-sive means, analysis of semantic complex formation processes, expansion of functional-semantical microfields, etc.
