Abstract: The paper considers the process of the fishing vocabulary formation in the Selkup language. It displays the ways of the development of this vocabulary: borrowings and original Selkup vocabulary as well as the means of word building such as conversion, word-composition, word-combination, suffixation and using words in their new meanings.
