Abstract: The article deals with methods of approach to the analysis of Stavrogin’s image by two vivid representatives of Russian immigration. S.I. Hessen and B.P. Vysheslavtzev. The former proceeds from the idea of Russian elements adjacent myphology and adopted from natural philosophy. At the same time the author applies conceptions of psychoanalysis. The latter proceeds from christian anthropology of a personality and meta-physical conception of freedom. The main problem for him is moral content of a personality. The difference of these methods of approach is the result of diametrically contrary interpretation of Dostoyevsky’s hero image.
