Abstract: The scientific article considers significance and functions of the shamans’ masks in rituals in the culture of the siberian peoples. Ise of different masks by shamans for creation of images of various spirits-helpes and spirit-patrons is on of nhe ways of transformation. Taking a role and playing it in front of those present is characteristic heve. On the basis of extensive materials from archives, museums, research works typological classification of shamans’ mask has been made.
