Abstract: The main idea of the given article is to analyze this natural philosophy image of an air which has both ontological and axiological sense in Gogol's aesthetics and poetics. An atmosphere sets plastic, color and light, music features of the art world. Gogol's synesthesia world building depends on this natural code.
