Abstract: The article deals with the distribution of accusative markers depending on the syntactical text units on the material of Udmurt. The analysis of the data proves that the increase of the informative capacity of the text, the presence of deictic and anaphoric components as well as the use of a direct object as a theme / topic of the sentence in terms of topic realization are conductive to the use of morphological markers in the structure of direct objects.

Keywords: udmurt language, object, accusative, realization of the topic, deixis, anaphora
