Abstract: The subject of this article is early German romanticists' philosophy of love and its concrete embodiments in German and French novels of the romantic period. We talk about the problems that the authors faced trying to conciliate the real and the imaginary and to represent happy love. We apply René Girard's theory of mimetic desire in revealing some hidden motifs of romantic desire. We try to link Freud's psychoanalysis with the romantic vision of love and to prove their close affinity. Keywords: romanticism, love, romantic heroine, lacan, freud Bibliography: |
