Abstract: The anniversary all-Russian scientific conference “Plot Theory and Plotogography-5” was organized by the department of literary studies of the Institute of Philology of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Novosibirsk). The reports were made in the following areas: a plot as a basic concept of narratology; the actual problems of theory and analysis of the plot; the poetics of the plot; the motive analysis of an epic, lyrical, dramatic work; the history of Russian and Western European plots; the problems of describing and fixing a literary motif and a plot; a plot and a documentary literature; the ballad and elegy plots in poetry and prose. The reports on the theory of plot covered the problems of the literature of the 16–21st centuries, revealing the diversity of approaches to the plot analysis. The plenary session involved the reports on the theory and history of literature. The plot nests designated by the genre were analyzed. Several reports were devoted to the features of the ballad plot, with the genre terminological definition being used while taking into account the modification of the ballad in 20–21st. The conference included the following sections: the section of folklore and literature of the 16–17 centuries; the section of the history of literature of the 18–19th centuries; the section of history and theory of literature of the 20th century; the section of the history of literature of the 21th century.
