Name: The interaction of modus «recollection» and the mental modus

Abstract: The article is devoted to the modus «recollection». The author examines the interaction of this subjective meaning with the mental modus. Focus is placed on the semantic peculiarities of means of expression of modus «recollection» in terms of their interchangeability with the verbs of a mental sphere. Special attention is paid to the specificity of the lexical value and etymological characteristics of the verbs remember and forget and to their ability to speak in a particular context as a peripheral expression of the mental modus. Also, emphasis is placed on the ability of such means of expression of the mental modus as the verbs know and identify to represent the peripheral zone of the means of expression of the modus «recollection», pointing back in time. In addition, the work discusses the semantic differences, replacing the indicators of «recollection» (remember, forget) by the language means of mental modus (think, know).
