Abstract: The paper discusses the dialect units as lexical means of describing the thematic group «woman’s appearance» in the Russian dialects of the Amur region. The emotive characteristics of the higher senses by the examples of the aesthetic senses manifestations and by some «beauty» and «ugliness» ideas of the Amur region residents are revealed. The thematic group of dialect words is represented in the pursuit of excellence of the Amur region residents. The paper also provides some facts of national differences in understanding of «beauty» and «ugliness» on the examples of the different ideas of woman’s beauty of the Amur region residents and Chinese interacting in the border areas of the Amur region.
