Abstract: The article describes the structure of the point of view and outlook of the hero in a fantastic adventure-historical novel based on a comparison with the classic adventure-historical novel. It is noted that there is a genetic relation between these genres. When you move the hero in time to change the basic characteristics of his outlook, it becomes double. The change of the hero’s outlook happens gradually: from a personal relationship to the historical epoch, through the acquisition of knowledge about this epoch to «revitalization» of the history and perpetuation of the hero in the past. This shift, according to the theory of Bakhtin, is from the «environment» (external perception) to the «outlook» (the world inside the consciousness). The process of establishment of the hero in a previous era is represented by a set of stable motifs: love or friendship, dressing, eating and blood. Compared with the classic historical novel, in a fantastic one the status of a hero changes – he is seen as God or an angel, resulting in a new kind of adventure test. All together it creates the image of «unprepared» story.
