Abstract: The present paper is concerned with the history of the relationship between I. A. Bunin and A. M. Fyodorov (1868–1949), which up till now remains one of the least known lines of Bunin’s biography. Over at least a length of a quarter of the century (i.e. from their acquaintance in 1895 till the emigration in 1920) Bunin and Fyodorov kept constant artistic communication. This communication manifested itself in their mutual dedications, in choosing similar poetic topics and in the same texts of foreign poetry, translated into Russian by both poets, and in their interest in the East, which Bunin started to display thanks to Fyodorov. Keywords: i. a. bunin (1870–1953), a. m. fyodorov (1868–1949), poetry, biography, landscape lyrics, poetic translations, east in russian poetry Bibliography: |
