Abstract: The focus of this article is the correspondence between Nadezhda Madelshtam and Lydia Ginzburg from 1959 to 1968. This is the first time Ginzburg’s letters have been studied scholastically. In the dialogue between these two prominent women, who were known by their powerful male intellect, gifted with literary talent and had incredible experience, we can extract multiple semantic layers. This article addresses one incredibly important moment for Nadezhda Yakovlevna: the preparation of and collaboration to publish Osip Madelshtam’s collection of poetry in The Poet’s Libraryseries, his first collection after 1928. Between the idea for the book, which arose in 1956, and the book’s release in 1973, 20 years had passed. Keywords: russian literature, osip mandelshtam, nadezhda mandelshtam, lydia ginzburg, nikolai khardzhiev, the poet’s libraryseries. Bibliography: |
