Abstract:

The article considers the songs with ballad plots recorded from settlers of Belarusian origin in Siberia and the Far East (Omsk, Novosibirsk and Tyumen Oblast, Krasnoyarsk and Primorsky Krai) from the 1970s to the present day. The collection of Belarusian songs with ballad plots from Siberia is preliminary in nature and is compiled on the basis of several archival collections and published sources.

The authors use the classification of folk ballads developed by Belarusian folklorists, as well as on a broader classification of Slavic narrative songs by Yu. I. Smirnov. The main research method is comparative. It is found out which original Belarusian ballad plots have been preserved in the folklore of settlers. In Siberian songs, 24 plots have been identified (most of them with mythological motifs); these plots were met in 57 texts. The functional and genre affiliation of Siberian songs with ballad plots is revealed. The results of the analysis of a group of songs with one plot are presented (9 texts with the plot Brother led sister across the sea / river).

The authors come to the conclusion that the examined songs with ballad plots have utilitarian functions and are poetically, musically and stylistically heterogeneous. The ballad plots are used in several genre forms - ritual, round dance, lyrical.
