Abstract:

The article sets out a story of a lesser-known modernist almanac “Alciona”, which was issued in February 1914, and was immediately prohibited by the censorship. New archive documents are given, which let one follow the consequences of the emergence of the idea of the collection, the details of its acquisition, the ripening of its final composition and actually the publishing. Thanks to the newfound censorship files from Moscow and St. Petersburg archives, it has become possible to find out some principles of restrictive mechanisms in the field of printing. Along the way, there were tracked some accompanying events of the case, resulted in the reprinting of several pages and the issuance of the liberated book into the light.
