Abstract: The author describes the life and creative path of B.G. Panteleymonov (1888–1950) – a writer with a unique biography, famous as a scientist-chemist, as well as his triumphant entry into literature in the last four years of his life. The focus of description is on professional advice to Panteleymonov from the “antagonist” writers who became his close friends and mentors in literary skill: A. M. Remizov, on the one hand, I. A. Bunin and N. A. Teffi, on the other. At the same time, the originality of Panteleymonov’s own writing talent is emphasized: his ability to see and reflect the world with his “young eyes”, soft humor, organic connection with nature. Enthusiastic responses and recollections about Panteleymonov made by the leading critics of the emigration are given; materials from the Bakhmetev archive (USA), letters from Remizov, Bunin, Teffi are cited.

Keywords: B. G. Panteleymonov, A. M. Remizov, I. A. Bunin, N. A. Teffi, “Russian Collection”, autobiography, fantasy, self-irony, Siberia, patriotism
