Abstract: The article describes basic features of hunt story plot in the works of Buryat writers; considers the story line «hunt case», states the common ground of its interpretation in art determined by the logic of the myth. The hunt story plot mithopoetics is determined by the perception of the incident and identification of its connection with the predestinate regularity. The plot of the hunt story reveals universal laws of human being and nature existence, designed to maintain or restore the balance in the interaction of opposites. In the works of B. Yabzhanov and S. Dorzhiev «hunt case» is defined in terms of both a secular and a sacred consciousness speaker; such a comparison helps to reveal unconscious sources of natural life and their comprehension in traditions. The article also reveals the regulatory function of mythological consciousness in building up various alterations of the story line «hunt case», thus, in the plot of inserted stories one can reveal a motive complex «ban – ban violation – punishment».

Keywords: plot, story line «hunt case» mythopoetics, mythological consciousness, totemism
