Abstract: The legacy of Yanga Todosh Badurov is at the crossroads of national Turkic and Mongolian literature and the author's Soviet poetry of the twentieth century. All verses were created directly on the fronts of the World war II, written in Altai language and recorded in his field diaries. The verses contain very graphic description of the realities of war, created by means of traditional literature. In the works of the poet there are such traditional genres as a blessing – alkysh, curse – kargysh, the doxology – maktal, military song-mourning, oath – chert. At the same time there are songs-recitals stylistically similar to the Soviet stage of poetry, revolutionary poetica and other traces of age.

Keywords: altai folk literature, turkic & mongolian military poetry, the military oath – chert, soviet poetry in the years of the world war ii
