Abstract:

The article analyzes the basic principles of the reflection of new metaphors in the updated series “New in Russian vocabulary”. In connection with the posed problem of rapid fixation of new metaphorical meanings, various types of new metaphors are considered: semantic neologisms, compound words and contaminants with the metaphorical meaning of one of the components, as well as new idiomatic expressions and new combinations of single use, including metaphor. The mechanisms of neographic analysis of metaphorical meanings are analyzed: a special structure of interpretation, expansion of word-formation and encyclopedic reference zones.

The scientific and practical potential of neological yearbook is characterized from the point of view of reflecting the zones of metaphorical activity and the phenomenon of textogenicity of key words of the current moment.

Keywords: neology, neography, metaphor, semantic neologism, compounding, contamination, dictionary entry
