Abstract: The article is devoted to the analysis of the activity of the OsumBez art association. It examines the ethical and aesthetic principles of the association, as set forth in the “Manifesto of the Insane Madmen”. The conclusion is made that the poetry of the representatives of the “Osumashchestvennye Madmen” comradeship can be defined as one of the modern forms of realism. In the poetry of the OsumBez we see trust in the world, in language, which, however, does not lead to empty naturalism, but involves subjectivity and psychologism. The poetry of the Osumbezes demonstrates attention to the details of “ordinary life” and avoids literary-centrism and games of meaningless mysticism. The principle of realism in the Osumbez poetry is firmly connected to the poetics of the city, its landscapes and inhabitants. The specificity of the urban environment and the specific practices of urban communities are reflected in the poetics of this art association. The modern city is the world in which the characters of the Osumbez poetry live and create. It is possible to talk about the Osumbez romanticism, which, however, does not reach the romantic cult of the self.
