ArticleName: To the question of Bible translation into the peoples’ languages of Europe: English tradition Authors: S.G. Proskurin Novosibirsk State University, Novosibirsk State Technical University, Tomsk Polytechnic University
Abstract: The current article deals with adapted formulae from the King James Bible in English. The author sees the complexity of adaptation in language struc-tures. The author also deals with double faith formulae in the early biblical transla-tions. The early biblical formulae present themselves complex structures with the double faith premises. They embody pagan and Christian ideas simultaneously. No-body among the newly converted was able to understand Christian ideas without previous pagan proto belief. Then the author analyzes how the formulae are adapted within the English tradition. Three types of formulae transformations are indicated. Keywords: formulae, double faith, semiotics, Bible, language structure Bibliography: Daniel Ch. Anglija. Istorija strany. M.; SPb., 2007. Proskurin S. G., Tsentner A. S.
