Name: Images of language from a contrastive point of view

Abstract: Corpus-linguistic investigations of the last years have revealed deep connections between the structure of languages and the ways people belonging to different cultures talk about language and thought. The paper demonstrates a con-trastive approach to folk-linguistic images of the language attested in Russian and in several other languages.
