Name: The ablative case in the Negidal language (the functional and semantic aspects)

Abstract: The paper analyzes the issues related to the functional and semantic peculiarities of the ablative case in the Negidal language. Within the Tungusic case system the ablative case expresses the object and adverbial-modifier relations be-tween the noun and deverbative formations with semantically correlated derivation stems which govern a noun case form. In the Negidal language this function is performed by finite verb forms, participles, adverbial participles, deverbative adverbs and nouns. For the first time all variants of the ablative suffix markers have been presented and the syntac-tically determined ablative meanings have been described in detail.
